How did you get to Luxembourg?

My husband’s job invited us here, then we reckoned that Luxembourg is perfect because very central to our families living in France, Holland and Germany.

When did you start practicing Pilates?

I was recommended Pilates after giving birth to my second child and losing my pelvic strength. This was back in Hong-Kong in 2006

How did you become a Pilates teacher?

I was teaching Drums Alive classes for children – a really fun drumming fitness concept – in a Pilates studio and the owner saw me as a future Pilates teacher. I love to learn new things and I saw the opportunity to grow.

A funny Pilates story from you as a teacher?

Not a specific one that I can remember, but I know we had many laughs during class over the years.

What is Pilates for you?

A very complete technique to keep physical and mental wellbeing.

If you had to describe Pilates in one word, what would that be?

Awareness.

What is your favourite Pilates quote?

“In 10 sessions you will feel the difference, in 20 you’ll see the difference, and in 30 you’ll have a new body” (Joseph Pilates)

If you could do one Pilates move for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?

Roll up on the mat – it tells you if you are able to articulate your spine vertebrae by vertebrae with full body control.

Which Pilates exercise challenges you the most?

The Teaser on the mat as it requires a lot of strength and stability. And the flexibility that is not a talent I was born with.

What do you find the most challenging in teaching Pilates?

Thinking of all the modifications for everyone.

Pilates with music or no music? Why?

I like adding music to get going in our warm-up, to help me concentrate, to use its rhythm when that is my theme of the class, and to create a nice ambiance in the class. It helps some people not hear others to breathe.

The best Pilates class you took?

My first teacher Hugo Codaro from Japan.

What makes your soul truly happy?

Being with my family and my friends. Being guided into meditation.

Your wildest experience in life?

Rafting near the Victoria Waterfalls in Africa.

What art do you enjoy doing?

Dancing.

Favourite holidays?

I like lazy beach holidays as well as active ski or discover-the-country holidays.

What`s one thing most people don`t know about you?

I am tired in the evening and go to bed early.

Favourite music track?

I like so many music tracks, it is impossible to choose!

What would you say to your younger self in 10 words or less?

Be gentle with yourself, take good care of yourself.

If you could live somewhere else now where would that be any why?

Holland where I grew up and feel home.

Fun fact?

I speak French to my children but they rarely answer back in French. They prefer German or English instead.

.

What do you fear most?

Having a car accident. Having cancer again.

Your insecurities?

Not being what I promote for others: physically and mentally healthy.
