How did you get to Luxembourg?

It was a life choice to live in a calm, organized and close to nature environment. Being able to spend more “quality” time for myself and my family.

When did you start practicing Pilates?

I started experimenting with Pilates since 2010. By the time we moved to Luxembourg I knew that this was what I wanted to devote myself into.

How did you become a Pilates teacher?

We were on a weekend trip in Brugges. While enjoying magnificent Belgium chocolate and drinking wine I filed an application at Polestar Pilates. Why not? Dreams come true only when you chase them!

A funny Pilates story from you as a teacher?

I believe I can write a book about this one day. I can recall my first attempt to make a full Pilates lesson…the victim was my husband. He was struggling to keep his legs above the ground while I was searching for the right words. The next time he tried Pilates was after 3 years, but his feedback helped me improve. Not everyone wins at the same time!

What is Pilates for you?

Pilates is a way of living for me!

If you had to describe Pilates in one word, what would that be?

What is your favourite Pilates quote?

“Every moment of our life can be the beginning of great things” (Joseph Pilates)

If you could do one Pilates move for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?

Reverse abdominal on Reformer – full body integration.

Which Pilates exercise challenges you the most?

Teaser on the Wunda Chair, because it requires extreme control of your body to balance on the base of support.

What do you find the most challenging in teaching Pilates?

Adjust to each client and ensure that my instructions help him/her align his body and mind.

Pilates with music or no music? Why?

Music! Music is everywhere, even on the way we breathe and Pilates for me is a lot about breathing.

The best Pilates class you took?

My teachers Leila Kester and Annemieke Jonas in Polestar Pilates Academy. Every lesson a different experience.

What makes your soul truly happy?

Any activity with my kids (ie. Dancing, singing, cooking, painting on everything!!!)

My driving 🙂
